Export and share
Export MP4, WebM, or GIF files, choose quality and bitrate, include audio, track progress, cancel or retry renders, and create share links.
Export turns your timeline into a final file. Share creates a hosted page when the sharing backend is configured.
Open export
- Finish your edit.
- Click Export in the editor header.
- Choose a format.
- Choose quality or custom bitrate.
- Click Export.
- Wait for progress to finish.
- Download the rendered file.

Export formats
| Format | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| MP4 | Most platforms and clients | Best default choice |
| WebM | Web playback and smaller files | Modern browser compatibility |
| GIF | Short silent loops | No audio; limited color and file efficiency |
Use MP4 when you are unsure.
Quality presets
Quality presets control bitrate and output size.
- Low — small test exports.
- Medium — balanced draft exports.
- High — recommended for most final videos.
- Very high — larger files and maximum quality.
For most social videos, High is the best starting point.
Custom bitrate
Use custom bitrate when you need a file size or quality target.
Supported range:
- Minimum: 0.1 Mbps.
- Maximum: 200 Mbps.
Guidelines:
| Output | Suggested bitrate |
|---|---|
| 1080p social draft | 4-8 Mbps |
| 1080p final | 8-16 Mbps |
| 4K final | 35-80 Mbps |
| Heavy motion / effects | Increase bitrate |
Higher bitrate means larger files and slower export.
Include or exclude audio
For MP4 and WebM exports, you can include or exclude audio.
Use Include audio when:
- The video has speech, music, or SFX.
- You are delivering the final video.
Turn audio off when:
- You need a silent background loop.
- You are exporting only visuals.
- The destination adds audio separately.
GIF exports are image-only and never include audio.
Frame rate and canvas size
Export uses the active project frame rate and canvas.
Before exporting, confirm:
- Canvas matches the platform.
- Captions are inside safe areas.
- Text is readable at final size.
- No hidden/muted elements are accidentally disabled.
- Timeline starts and ends where you expect.
Common canvas sizes:
- 1080×1920 for vertical TikTok/Reels/Shorts.
- 1920×1080 for landscape YouTube.
- 1080×1080 for square social posts.
- 3840×2160 for 4K landscape.
Export progress
During export, the editor shows progress.
You can:
- Watch percentage complete.
- Wait for render stages.
- Cancel if you picked wrong settings.
- Retry failed exports.
- Download when complete.
Do not close the tab during export.
Cancel export
- Click Cancel while export is running.
- Confirm if prompted.
- Change settings or fix the timeline.
- Start export again.
Cancelled exports are not saved as partial files.
Retry failed export
If export fails:
- Read the error message.
- Click Retry if available.
- If it fails again, lower quality or simplify heavy effects.
- Check available disk and browser memory.
- Try exporting a shorter section if possible.
Download rendered file
When export finishes:
- Click Download if it does not download automatically.
- Save the file somewhere permanent.
- Play it locally to confirm audio, captions, and timing.
- Upload it to your final platform.
Share a video link
When sharing is configured, the Share button can render and upload a video to a hosted Pluged AI share page.
- Click Share in the header.
- Wait while the app renders MP4.
- Wait while the app uploads the rendered file.
- Copy the generated share URL.
- Send the link to someone or post it.
Share pages include a "Made with Pluged AI" CTA.
Export vs share
| Need | Use |
|---|---|
| Upload to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, client portal | Export |
| Send a quick preview link | Share |
| Keep a local file | Export |
| Let someone watch in a browser without downloading | Share |
| Make a GIF | Export |
Share requirements
Sharing depends on backend configuration.
If the Share button is missing or disabled, sharing may not be configured for your workspace. Use Export instead.
Pre-export checklist
Before final export:
- Play from the beginning.
- Check the first and last frame.
- Check captions and text safe zones.
- Listen for audio clipping or missing audio.
- Look for hidden clips or muted tracks.
- Confirm canvas size.
- Export a short test if effects are heavy.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Export redirects or fails | Check app session and export settings |
| Final file has no audio | Enable Include audio and check muted clips |
| Export is slow | Heavy effects, long videos, and high bitrate take longer |
| GIF is huge | Shorten duration or use MP4/WebM instead |
| Share button missing | Sharing backend is not configured |
| Uploaded share fails | Retry on a stable connection |
