Caption skins

Restyle every caption in one prompt — TikTok Bold, Minimal Clean, Boxed Contrast, and three more consistent looks.

Styling captions by hand means setting font, size, color, and background on dozens of text clips. A caption skin does it in one prompt: the agent restyles every caption to a coherent, tested look in seconds, and you can switch looks as many times as you want.

Prompts to paste

"Restyle the captions with TikTok Bold."

"Make the captions cleaner and less loud — something minimal."

"Use Boxed Contrast captions so they're readable over the busy background."

"Give it a documentary feel — quiet lower captions."

"Apply Neon Pop to the captions, but only in the first 10 seconds."

The six skins

SkinLookBest for
TikTok BoldLarge bold white text, dark rounded backingTikTok, Reels, viral clips

Editorial HighlightLeft-aligned serif on a warm dark railMagazine-style, premium content
Neon PopBright bold text on a deep blue boxGaming, hype edits, music
Documentary LowerQuiet serif lower-third, stays clear of facesInterviews, documentaries

What the agent actually does

Applying a skin updates the caption text elements on your timeline. A skin sets exactly these properties: font family, weight, size, color, alignment, the background box (color, corner radius, padding), and vertical position. That's the whole list — skins do not add strokes, glows, shadows, or animations. Minimal Clean simply turns the background box off.

By default only caption-like text is restyled; titles and callouts are left alone (the agent can include them if you ask). You can also target specific captions — select one on the timeline or describe a range, and the agent scopes the restyle to it.

Template defaults

Creator templates come with a matching skin, applied only if captions already exist — templates never generate captions themselves:

Override any of them: "Apply the TikTok template, but use Minimal Clean captions."

When to do it manually

Select a caption on the timeline and open the Properties panel to adjust font, size, color, and background per clip — see Text and titles. Note that applying a skin afterwards overwrites manual styling on captions.

Limits

  • Skins style existing captions — generate captions first (Auto-caption a video).
  • No per-word animations, strokes, or glow effects. If you want animated text, that's a manual text-overlay animation (Text and titles), not a skin.
  • A skin is a fixed set of values, not a theme with intensity — to tweak it, apply the skin and then adjust properties manually or describe the change to the agent.
