Settings panel
Understand the Settings tab for project options, canvas decisions, captions/transcription preferences, storage, and provider-dependent features.
The Settings tab contains project and editor options that affect how the workspace behaves. Some settings are local to your browser; others depend on how your workspace is configured.
Open Settings
- Open a project.
- In the left asset panel, click Settings.
- Review the available sections.
Settings can vary based on deployment configuration and enabled providers.
Project settings
Project settings can include:
- Project name.
- Canvas size.
- Frame rate.
- Background color.
- Track defaults.
- Export-related project defaults.
Set these early when possible. Canvas changes late in a project can require manual reframing.
Canvas settings
Use canvas settings to choose the final viewing format.
Common formats:
- Landscape 1080p — 1920×1080.
- Vertical 1080p — 1080×1920.
- Square 1080 — 1080×1080.
- Landscape 4K — 3840×2160.
After changing canvas size:
- Check every main clip.
- Reposition text and captions.
- Check stickers and graphics.
- Re-preview transitions.
- Export a short test if the project is complex.
Caption and transcription settings
Depending on configuration, captions can use:
- On-device transcription.
- Hosted/cloud transcription.
- Auto language detection.
- Manual language selection.
Use on-device transcription when privacy matters most. Use hosted transcription when configured and you need speed or higher accuracy.
Provider-dependent features
Some features only appear or work when service keys are configured:
- Pexels stock search requires a Pexels API key.
- Freesound search requires Freesound API configuration.
- Text-to-speech requires OpenAI or Azure OpenAI TTS credentials.
- Share links require the sharing backend.
- Hosted transcription requires the transcription provider.
If a feature is missing or shows a setup message, it may not be enabled for your workspace.
Local storage settings
Pluged AI stores many project files in browser storage.
Use settings and browser tools to manage:
- Project data.
- Media cache.
- Transcript cache.
- Visual analysis cache.
- Editor preferences.
Avoid clearing browser storage unless you have exported finished work and saved source files elsewhere.
Theme settings
The header theme toggle changes the editor interface between light and dark mode. This does not affect the exported video.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Stock or sounds missing | Provider may not be configured |
| Captions option differs from docs | Workspace may use local or hosted transcription settings |
| Canvas changed but clips look wrong | Reframe clips and reposition overlays |
| Projects disappeared | Check browser storage, profile, and device; local projects are not always synced |
| Share button missing | Sharing backend may not be configured |
